Wildlife And Corporate Social Responsibility – We acknowledge our biggest stakeholder is the ecosystem around us.

We have a responsibility to identify and manage the way in which we impact it. We are committed to continually improving our environmental performance and moving towards best practices in corporate sustainability.  Every aspect of any CSR derives from nature.  May it be providing food for the starving, supplying work to the jobless and more.  We need to contribute, acknowledge and appreciate what we have in nature… 

Wild Florida believes in the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSR) by voluntarily contributing to cultivate a better society and cleaner environment. Our goal is to exceed the ethical, legal, commercial, and public expectations of our company and have an overall positive impact on our community.

As an organization that profits from the beautiful Florida Everglades, we ascribe to a higher standard. We are partners with the swamp and recognize our interdependence with the environment we love. Our desire is to be transparent and ethical in all our dealings while contributing to community around us in a positive way.

Steps to take in regards to a sufficient CSR and wildlife and nature:

  1. Reduce the environmental impacts of existing operations and ensure that the environmental impacts of new operations are fully assessed and reduced prior to their introduction.
  2. Minimise our current consumption and re-use instead of dispose of materials where possible
  3. Promote recycling and use of recycling materials.
  4. Reduce, wherever practicable, the level of harmful emissions from our airboats through slower speeds and acceleration.
  5. Dispose of all waste and hazardous materials in a responsible manner.
  6. Partner with and follow rules, guidelines, and regulations from the Department of Environmental Protection.
  7. Partner with the Florida Fish and Wildlife to help manage the sustainability of our Everglades.
  8. Support community programs that promote environmental protection, education, and restoration.
  9. Donate annually to foundations and charitable groups that support our environment.
  10. Establish the Trees for Tours program that donates one cypress tree to reforestation for every 200 air boat rides.

The fundamentals of CSR rest on the fact that not only public policy but even corporates should be responsible enough to address social issues. Thus companies should deal with the challenges and issues looked after to a certain extent by the states. Among other countries India has one of the oldest traditions of CSR.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has notified Section 135 and Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013 as well as the provisions of the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014 to come into effect from April 1, 2014.
To comply with the Act, companies can undertake activities for social good listed in Schedule VII on their own or through a trusted Implementing Partner that has been in existence over three years and has a proven track record and is registered as a Trust or Society.
