Satisfying a hunger at Linksfontein Safari Lodge
Food is for eating, and good food is to be enjoyed… I think food is, actually, very beautiful in itself. – Delia Smith
Food is a necessity of life – if you do not eat you die.
In South Africa there is the saying of ” The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” and how true that is. Preparing food is not always about skill and technique. Any person can make food and present it to someone.
The true core of preparing food, lies in the love one has for the preparing of food and the feeling you derive from the look on a person’s face when they take that first bite.
At Linksfontein Safari Lodge we try to provide the best meals that are not only tasty, but satisfying and filling as well.
A closer look at the menu
A normal menu at Linksfontein consists of a nice continental breakfast served with cereals, rusks, toast and more.
A lunch normally consists of a meaty meal accompanied by either a starch meal or veggies and a crunchy green salad.
Our brunches are well thought out and prepared with care to suit all preferences.
Dinner is a grand affair, started off with nice casual snack platters around the fire or at the bar, while enjoying a game of pool and something nice to drink.
Starters are at the forefront of our dinners, with a different menu that can be a surprise every evening.
Our main course is in a league of it’s own. Two different type of meats, usually a venison and 1 other. Two types of veggies – one sweet and one salty. A starch and a salad.
Something sweet
And what meal can be complete if not finished off with a sinfully decadent desert? Amarula Choc Mousse, Malvapudding with warm custard, are to name just but a few.
We cater for your every need – and if there is an allergy, an intolerance or more, we will compensate and ensure that you are well taken care of.
Eating is so intimate. It’s very sensual. When you invite someone to sit at your table and you want to cook for them, you’re inviting a person into your life. – Maya Angelou
